Josh is thinking of heading up a Spring camping trip. Anyone interested? Right now we’re looking at the weekend of Feb 26-28. Trying to book in advance so people can plan accordingly. Let us know if you know of a big conflict that weekend OR if you’d like to come along! It will be  close to home, Huntsville State Park, just up I-45.

With the cold weather turn, let’s sit around a warm fire while we have discussion this week at Ben and Rachel’s house.  We’ll be having Brinner – a.k.a. Breakfast for Dinner – pancakes, and all the fixin’s.  We need a few people to bring drinks in the form of juice and milk, and someone to bring plastic silverware and plastic cups.  Just comment or let Rachel know what you plan to bring.  See you at 5:30!

Don’t forget – next Sunday, October 25, is the Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at Southeast from 5:30 to 7:30. We will be dismissing life group for that night so that all can participate in that event.

Either sign up this Sunday or talk to Karis or Janel about offering your car for the trunk or treaters that night. They wanted about 10 cars from our group and so far we don’t have close to that many. If you want to, do what we’re doing and share a car with someone and split the costs of candy and other stuff. If you have kids, partner with someone without kids so you will have someone to watch the car while you walk around with your little ones.

You definitely do not have to decorate your car or anything like that, just pull it up to a spot and provide the important things: candy.

Life group this Sunday will be at the home of Amy and Andy Johnston. We will be meeting at 5:30 and serving king ranch chicken and pumpkin cake for dessert. After dinner, we plan to assemble the Hope for Haiti’s Joy Boxes with the goodies that were purchased earlier this week.  Our address is 4102 Leisure Lane, Pearland, TX 77584.  Hope to see everyone there!

From 2351 take a right on 518. Take 518 about 7 miles to Hwy 35/Main St. and turn left. Take Hwy 35 to the next stop light, Walnut, and turn right. Take Walnut to the first stop sign, Veterans, and turn left. The first cross street on Veterans will be Brazos Bend, turn left. Take Brazos Bend until it ends at Waterside Trail and turn right. The next street to the right will be Leisure Lane. We are the one story house on the corner. (Please remember our street does not show up correctly on Google maps and some GPS devices, but MapQuest should work.)

Thank you for your generosity with the Hope for Haiti’s Joy Boxes!  We have exactly enough for the 2 boxes we committed to sending.  Now, it’s time for the fun part!  Please join me (Rachel) in the church parking lot closest to the gym on Wednesday at 7:00 for a short trip to the store to stock the boxes full of presents for our sweet children.  I know it’s not easy to get out and about on a Wednesday night, but I need your help!  It shouldn’t take too much of your time, but it will mean so much to the kids.  We are sending boxes to one boy (10) and one girl (7), so I need help from both the men and the ladies.  I hope to see you there!!!

Thanks to Facebook many of us already know that Melanie is having surgery today.  In case you didn’t, now you do!  Please say a prayer for her surgery and recovery.

For Lifegroup this Sunday, Rick and Melanie have graciously offered to provide the food and will be hosting us at the home of Ben and Rachel Crain.  We are going to do fajitas. We have chicken and beef that we are going to grill up for the fajitas. Flour tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, pico, sauteed bell peppers and onions, and salsa will be provided. What we need from other people is: tortilla chips, drinks, plates, silverware, napkins, cups, and dessert.  Please comment with what you are bringing so we can make sure to have all of the items covered.  We hope to see everyone there!

This week Kyle and Treva will be providing a delicious meal for us.  Come ready to enjoy Chicken Spaghetti, garlic bread, and dessert.  Plates, cups, and utensils will also be accounted for.  If we could get some people to volunteer to bring salad (and dressing if they have it), and drinks that would be great.

We will meet in the home of Ben and Rachel at our usual time of 5:30.  We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Tim and Ashley will be hosting Lifegroup this week.  We will be meeting at a park in Pearland at 5:30 for a cookout.  Hamburgers, hotdogs, and utensils will be provided.  We will need some people to volunteer to bring chips and desserts.

You might want to bring a camping chair because seating is limited.  In addition, there is not a restroom at the park.  Tim and Ashley will open up there house if a bathroom break is needed.  There is a playground, with gravel.  If you would like to play with your kids, don’t wear flip flops.

The park is in the Banbury Cross neighborhood, located behind Tim and Ashley’s apartments.

Take 518 past Pearland Parkway.  Turn right at Westminister.  The park is located on the right after the 1st stop sign.
Coming from Pearland or the W:
Take 518 past 35.  Turn left at Westminister, before Pearland Parkway.  The park is located on the right after the 1st stop sign.
Coming from the N:
Take the Beltway.  Exit Pearland Parkway.  Turn right on Barry Rose.  Turn left at the 3 way stop.  Turn right on Westminister.  The park is located on the left.
