Ruben & Ashley-
Ben & Rachel – Ben and Rachel, married 8 years, moved here in October 2006. They reside a couple of blocks away from church, and help free up parking space by walking when possible. Ben & Rachel work along with Kyle & Treva to co-lead Lifegroup. Rachel is the responsible one who coordinates a place for Lifegroup each week, as well as ensuring nobody goes hungry while there.
Ben is proud to be an active supporter of the Southeast Youth. He co-leads a Wednesday night Junior High Small Group with Tim Miller, and helps teach High School on Sunday mornings.
Ben has a degree in Painting & Drawing which he puts to use in the Retail Management field, well, not really. He currently works for Golfsmith, and when not working, enjoys actually playing golf. Rachel does put her Design degree to good use as the Art Director for the Association Design in Galveston. When not working she enjoys their two dogs, Nilla & Noogie, blog stalking, and cooking/baking.
Cade- Cade Hodgson has been going to Southeast since Fall 2008. Cade has lived in the Houston area since he was 8 except for 4 years he spent in Lubbock studying chemical engineering at Texas Tech University. Now Cade works as a chemical engineer in an integrated refinery/petrochemical complex. He really enjoys his job, but unfortunately his nerdiness follows him home from work.
Cade occasionally teaches Bible classes on Sunday morning and is almost always eager to talk (usually at excruciating length) about any God-/Bible-/spiritual-related subject. If you do talk to him, it won’t be long before he references Matt Chandler whose podcasts Cade listens to voraciously. Cade spends the rest of his time watching TV, exercising, and playing ping pong against all comers at his house.
Andy , Amy, & Emerson -
Ryan, Allison, & Jordan – Ryan has been a member at Southeast since 1986 and, after returning to Houston from Harding University, is one of the founders of the Young Adults program. His major was in business and he currently is the Administrative Director at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University.
Ryan’s interests primarily lie in baseball, fantasy sports, playing softball, reading, facilitating small group discussion, and fashion (which is the source of much tormenting from his friends). He has been married to Allison Kirksey for five years and they have one daughter, Jordan.
Kyle & Treva- Kyle and Treva have been happily married for 3 years. Treva moved here in 2007 to pursue her Doctorate at UTMB in Galveston, and Kyle moved here one long year later.
Kyle has a degree in Mathematics and works for NuStar Energy where he is the Gulf Coast Region’s Lead Ops Reporting Specialist, a.k.a Financial Analyst. Kyle enjoys all things sports, especially Texas Rangers baseball and Dallas Cowboys football. He enjoys playing all sports including golf, even though the opportunities are limited. Treva is a Physical Therapist at TIRR Memorial Hermann where she specializes in adult and child neurological injuries. Her interests include running, reading, and cheering on the Rangers and Cowboys along side Kyle. Treva also enjoys working in the nursery at church every Sunday, watching the cute babies of Southeast. After three years away from beautiful West Texas, they are finally starting to call the Houston Metro home.
Tim & Ashley- Tim and Ashley moved to Houston July of 2006, becoming members of Southeast shortly thereafter. They have been married since the summer of 2007. They both work as teachers for Pasadena Independent School District. Tim is an elementary P.E. coach, which he would describe as the best job in the world. Ashley is a sixth grade math teacher currently pursuing her degree in school counseling. Tim and Ashley are active youth workers, either leading small groups or teaching class or chaperoning youth events. Tim and Ashley enjoy being with friends, family and their dogs (Penny and Scout), playing games, watching movies or their favorite shows, and being outside. Tim is a sports enthusiast, enjoying watching or playing almost anything while Ashley loves playing at the beach and taking naps.
